Resting amidst the grandeur of the Judean hills, on a summit overlooking the splendor of Jerusalem and the Temple Mount, lies the Zayit Ra’anan synagogue.
In the Zayit community of Efrat, the Zayit Ra’anan synagogue is located directly between the ancient city of our forefathers, the city of Hebron, and the holy city toward which we send our prayers and supplications, the city of Jerusalem.
Our community is comprised primarily of young couples and families with young children. There is a wonderful balance of families that have immigrated from all parts of the world and families with Israeli roots that can be traced back generations. The Zayit Ra’anan community believes that the future of the land and the state of Israel is dependent upon the obligation to settle the land and a resolute belief in G-d.
The Zayit Ra’anan synagogue hosts a number of daily Minyanim, classes in Torah study in a myriad of different subjects, activities for children and the study of Pslams. The synagogue hosts monthly kiddushes on every Shabbat Mevarchim, cultural events for the community and special events for Shabbatot and holidays. The events that are hosted are geared toward people of all ages, both young and old and our synagogue has seen Smachot such as Brisses, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs and Torah dedications. The community works hard to help the needy and has hosted events to support many charitable organizations. The Zayit Ra’anan synagogue is the heart of the community’s spiritual, productive and cultural life and remains as such despite the incomplete construction of the synagogue’s building.
The growing number of residents in our community, Thank G-d, has yielded a great need for the building of an addition to the synagogue on the plaza that is adjacent to the synagogue’s external structure. This addition will provide the synagogue with an extra hall for prayer as well as a much-needed social hall. Zayit Ra’anan is located in the most central of locations in Zayit and is seen not just as a synagogue, but as the heart and soul of the community. All those who frequent the Zayit Ra’anan synagogue feel welcome and feel the closeness and the warmth of family just by being within its walls. It is our goal to maintain that sentiment as well as develop it even further.
Come and be our partner as we build our community for our children, the next generation of Efrat and the land of Israel. Your generosity will allow us to build a center for Torah study, spirituality and dedication to G-d.
With Thanks,
The Zayit Raanan Community
